🎮 PhonemeQuest
A gamified training tool to improve the perception of English speech sounds—especially minimal pairs like bit–beet or cap–cup.

It’s designed for research, second-language learning, and auditory training—but anyone curious about speech is welcome to play!

I’ll try to fix it... when I find time 🙂

🎮 How to Play

🧪 Subject ID Setup

Enter a 3-digit Subject ID to define the experimental condition:

  • 1st digit – Adaptive condition:
    1 = None (fixed speed, no babble)
    2 = Single Mode (Speed + Babble)
    3 = Dual Mode (2 sounds per trial)

  • 2nd digit – Contrast order:
    1 = /ɪ/–/iː/ (bit–beet) first
    2 = /æ/–/ʌ/ (cap–cup) first

  • 3rd digit – Item set:
    1 = Set A ("bit", "beet", "still", "steel", ...)
    2 = Set B ("dip", "deep", "bin", "bean", ...)
